So today we're going to talk about coal, solar, and a gotcha question.

We're going to talk about this because I got a message that is very much in the spirit of the

long-running series on the channel How to Ruin Thanksgiving Dinner.

It says, Bell, help me out. I need you to do a type of video I haven't seen you do

yet. I agreed to go to my mother's for Halloween and my uncle is straight up the uncle you joke about on the channel.

The one who is always on Facebook and has had all critical thought taken away by

ridiculous right-wing talking points.

He's been posting all week about how green energy is a farce because coal is powering the transition.

I know that there's some truth to what he's saying, but how do I explain

that we have to go through one to get to the other without sounding like I'm just making excuses.

I don't care if it's snarky to use your word or flat out a word that starts with a bee.

It literally says a word that starts with a bee. It literally says a word that starts with a be.

To give you an idea of who I want to shut up,

he made a giant tampom box so he can say he dressed up as Tim Walls.

Look with people like this you have to use analogies

they can't argue with.

The reason so many analogies get used on this channel is because they cut through

the talking points by not engaging with them directly. That way people don't have a canned answer.

Yes, coal is powering the production of all sorts of components for green energies.

And that will be the case until the green energies are built and producing more. Then the greener energies will be providing

the power. So how do you create analogies to get through to Uncle Bob.
