Hi everyone and welcome to Battle on Paper. I'm Olivia Mentor and I'm Becca Freeman.

And today we are talking about our July Book Club pick, Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie

Garmas. I literally just finished this like less than 24 hours ago so it is very fresh

in my mind but I'm excited to discuss and this is the one that you all chose. Yes.

So before we get into all of that let's do some highs and lows. Let's do it. Do you want

to start? What's your high? Sure. My high is something very small. I have had a recurring

freelance client for years and years and it's just it's just grown to be tasks that I really

love doing and it's a good study work which in freelancing is kind of like the ultimate

like holy grail having like an anchor client but I really am at the point where I just

want to start saying no to things and like just trusting that there will be something to

take its place where I can put that energy elsewhere and I always tell myself I'm going

to say no to this one client but I never ever do for years and years but this month I

was like you know what I really I need a break. I'm going to abandon this mindset that

is like I'm never going to have enough work like everyone's going to drop me I'm going

to be in a terrible situation and anyway I was kind of proud of myself for saying no.

I don't think that's a small thing at all I think that's awesome. Thank you. It's harder

than it sounds. Okay but talk about your high because I'm excited for you. I'm excited

about this I'm excited to hear you talk about it. So I finished the third draft of my book

before I went to France and I said that this round I was going to share it with a handful

of people for feedback and so I shared it with about five people only two people have

gotten my feedback so far but both people gave me really positive feedback that is just

totally renewed me and I think that perhaps I've been maybe feeling more negative than
