Welcome to our Friday's broadcast of the Gospel Truth.

Today is the end of my first week of teaching on a subject that I've entitled Lessons from Elijah.

I've got a book on this and a study guide, CDs, DVDs.

And I tell you, this is something that has really, really impacted my life.

Some of the best life lessons that I've ever learned came through the life of Elijah.

And we are just getting started on this.

I've already covered that this was a kind of an apostate time in the history of the nation of Israel that they have in Jezebel.

The King and Queen had forbidden the worship of the true God and had instituted bail worship and were killing anybody who worshiped the true God.

And this is very similar to our situation.

It's not that far gone in the United States and in the Western countries yet.

But they are becoming increasingly hostile to Christianity where people are being arrested and churches are considered non-essential, et cetera.

And so in a similar situation, Elijah just stepped out and spoke boldly in the name of the Lord and it propelled him to a position of influence.

The same thing would happen with us today.

This is one of the lessons that I learned that we've got to be bold and stand up and speak even when it's not popular to do so.

And another thing is that he had a word from the Lord and it was basically Deuteronomy 11, 16, and 17 that prophesied that if the nation of Israel ever went to serving other gods, God would send a drought upon the nation.

So he just took the prophecy, the word that was already given and spoke it forth.

Every one of us have a word.
