Welcome to our Wednesday's broadcast of the Gospel Truth.

Today I'm continuing a series that I started just this last Monday talking about lessons from Elijah.

And I tell you, I'm really excited about this. I have learned so much at this man's expense that I've written a book about it.

I've got a study guide, CDs, and DVDs.

And I tell you, this is the preferred way to learn things, is not through your own mistakes, but to see the mistakes of other people, and also the successes of other people.

You know, the Bible is really unique in the sense that it will show you all of the warts and every single thing that is wrong with people.

You go back through history and read a book about a person oftentimes, they will sit there and paint it with a rose colored glasses and stuff, and they will, you know, slant things to make a person look better or worse than they are.

And stuff, but the Bible is just super candid.

Elijah was one of the greatest men of God recorded in the Bible, but he also made some of the biggest mistakes and had some of the biggest failures.

And yet recovered from it to the point that he was just translated up into heaven. He didn't die. He's one of only two people mentioned in Scripture who never died and just was caught up into heaven.

Man, there's things that we can learn from a man who walked with God that way.

So what I've shared so far is out of first Kings, chapter 17, verse 1, where Ahab and Jezebel, the king and the queen, had forbidden the worship of the true God of Israel, and they were killing anybody who worshiped God, they had instituted bail worship.

And into the midst of this terrible situation Elijah just boldly came and said, does say it the Lord God of Israel, even though Ahab had rejected the Lord God as the God of Israel, God had not disconnected from the nation and he still proclaimed himself as the God of Israel.

Today, even though there are people in this nation, the United States that have rejected God, I don't believe that God has rejected this nation and he's looking for people that will stand up and speak the Word.

And so Elijah just came in boldly and proclaimed what Deuteronomy, chapter 11, verses 16 and 17 says, that if people ever turn away from worshiping the true God, that there would be a drought in the land.

And it would come upon him. And so Elijah just took the Word of God and he proclaimed it. And the point I was making yesterday is there's a lot of people that know what the Word of God says.

They know that the things that are being said and done by our government. I'm not only speaking about the US, but I'm saying this is something that it's a spirit of Antichrist that's operating around the world.

And there are Christians that know that that is contrary to the truth of the Word and you have a Word from God. You may not have a specific Word for the President, but you have a Word about what salvation is.
