Welcome to the Treatment. I'm Elvis Mitchell. It's almost 25 years ago that his first album drop.

My guest, Lenny Kravitz, is better known to those of you under the age of whatever it is we are.

No, I don't know about that.

As one of the stars of the Hunger Games movies, he's in the newest film Catching Fire.

Lenny, it's so good to see you in America's because we run into each other in almost any

times when I could think of besides.

That's right.

Any, any odd event in Europe, yes.

What I want to talk to you about is when I watch you in the Hunger Games films or even

in the Butler, you use pauses as an actor in a way I find really interesting, almost like musical pauses.

And I wonder where those stops come from you when you're working as an actor.

Like you said, I do relate, you know, music to acting.

It's rhythm, it's mood, it's dynamics.

And as Miles said, it's where you don't play.

The notes you don't play, that's the important part.

Even in Precious, when we first see you, you don't speak for a long time.

I mean, you're really waiting it out.

It's almost like that character, the nurse you're playing, is just, he lives his life by kind of

intuition and feeling where people are.
