I'm Elvis Mitchell.

You may know the director of Malcolm D. Lee for Roscoe Jenkins or Undercover Brother or you probably know best for a film that came out now 14 years ago.

A film called The Best Man. It stars Tay Diggs, Morris Chestnut, Terrence Howard, Neil Long, Sonal Aethon, Monica Calhoun, Melissa

DeSouza, Harold Perronow. The sequel, The Best Man Holiday, is not with us. It's writer-director

Malcolm Lee sitting across me. Malcolm, thanks so much for being here. Thanks for having me. Glad to be

here. When I first met you, which is like about 10 years ago now, I said to you, so when is the

best man's sequel?

You did indeed. You did indeed.

And you had the idea for even then you knew you wanted to do it.

Yeah, you know, the first movie, everyone was saying, not everyone, but a lot of people

were fans of that one. And they said, you know, why I should do a sequel, do a sequel. But, you know,

it was my first movie. I didn't want to repeat myself, be pigeonholed as a storyteller. So, yeah,

but even then, I said, I would revisit these characters 10 years later. And, you know, it just happened to it was 14 years later.

So first of all, for the audience, tell them what the sequel is about.
