On today's episode, we are going through a legal roundup because there have been a lot of high-profile cases that have gone through significant developments or even resolutions.

So today you are treated to my friend, fellow attorney, Fox News contributor, and longtime NYPD detective Paul Morrow as we talk about three big names.

All right.

So Paul, let's start with Fairfax County, Virginia, in a case dubbed the Opaire Affair.

Now, former IRS Special Agent Brendan Banfield, he was found guilty of aggravated murder

for the gruesome 2023 deaths of his wife, Christine Banfield, He was found guilty of aggravated murder for the gruesome 2023

deaths of his wife, Christine Banfield, and a stranger named Joseph Ryan. Now, we know that brings

with it a mandatory life sentence without parole. So the case centered on this one chilling

allegation, essentially that Banfield and the family's au pair, her name is

Juliana Perez Magaliyish, that they carried out this like horrific, elaborate catfishing

plot via a fetish website to murder his wife and then frame Ryan as a home invader.

So talk to us about what the jurors watched as his former lover turned on him and what it all mean.

So there's a couple of things I think that jump out in this case.

First of all, they flipped the au pair who was apparently in on it.

So you have a conspirator.

Now, intrinsically, a conspirator can be distrusted by the jury because that person has a vested interest in

blaming the other person but there's the forensic evidence here backed her up enough so that

the main accused the IRS agent Brendan actually felt compelled to take the stand. And that tells me that he knew the evidence

against him and his attorneys were telling him, look, they got a good case here. Even though it's

her word against yours, there are other corroborative aspects of this that are going to back

her up and you are in trouble. And so they made the decision for him to testify, which is very unusual. Did you think that's the right call then? You know, it must have been bad. And, you know, as we were saying offline, and I don't mean to make light of it, but first of all, apparently he came off as very cold. And there was this added fact that the child or four-year-old
