Summary

There's always a chance the Lakers will have a more disappointing loss than the one coming Wednesday, 123-115 to the Oklahoma City Thunder, but they'll certainly have to work hard to make it happen. With just 3:28 left in the first half, the Lakers were sitting on a 26-point lead against a heretofore winless, very young, super-inexperienced squad, and felt positioned to cruise towards victory. But cruising at the NBA level is an art form, and the Lakers aren't nearly good enough yet to have mastered it. Bad focus begat bad execution. Bad execution begat bad decisions. And bad decisions begat confidence for OKC, which was bad for the Lakers. And without LeBron James (ankle) available, they weren't able to dig themselves out of this hole. There's a lot to unpack from this loss. How far behind the curve the Lakers are in their rather complicated process of jelling? Will they have enough time to make up lost ground? What can they do to just survive games until they're whole? (Whenever that day ever happens.) Are they in a position to tangibly improve? And finally, it was a bad game from Russell Westbrook, who fell apart over the second half, then got tossed after taking exception to Darius Bazley dunking the ball in the final seconds with the game in hand. On a few fronts, this was ridiculous, especially coming from Russ. Hosts: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: Long story short, the Lakers don't look good right now. SEGMENT 2: The different ways the lack of continuity since training camp opened is hurting the Lakers' development. SEGMENT 3: A bad game from Westbrook, capped by a really dumb ejection. Wednesday night up 41 to 19. They build the lead as long as they didn't just play an inspirational
