Summary

I've been in this industry for almost 30 years, and one thing I see over and over is that people losing weight have a hard time taking a compliment.

(I've even caught myself doing this recently! And I'm pretty confident!)

How it usually goes is something like this:

Someone sees that you've lost weight and they say, "Wow, you look great!"

Ideally, your response would be something like, "Thank you so much, I appreciate that."

Instead, it's usually this:

"Thanks, but I still have a long way to go."

(Or you negate their compliment in some other way.)

If you feel like you need to explain yourself or argue with someone when they pay you a compliment - instead of just saying "thank you" - then this week's new podcast episode is for you.
