Hello and welcome back to three things. Today, Rick is sitting down with Gene Woods.

Gene is the president and CEO of Atrium Health, Charlotte, North Carolina's largest health system,

and one of the largest in the nation. He's been named one of the 100 most influential people

in healthcare by modern healthcare for five years running, and with Charlotte Business Journal's

2020 Business Person of the Year. He's also a longtime friend of Ricks and last year joined him in Atrium's

Million Mask Initiative, which to date has distributed more than 2 million free masks to people

in the community who need them most. Throughout the pandemic, Gene has been a vocal advocate

for underserved communities, working to eliminate racial disparities in COVID testing

and improving access to care for at-risk populations.

In fact, just recently, he testified before the U.S. Senate about protecting the vulnerable

elderly population.
