It's to the best of our knowledge. I'm Anne Strangeamps. Today, late bloomers.

I was 62 at the time, and I kept wondering, what is this age thing all about? How do you get up every morning and keep the juices flowing?

And it just occurred to me, I need to speak to

some older people, some older women artists. Amy Gorman's one of those people who began

doing something new later in life. After running a non-profit art center for years and years,

she quit and took up sculpture. And she found herself wondering things like,

how long do I have?

And is it crazy to think I could have a career in the arts

if I started this late?

And then she met Lily Hurst, who was 100.

Lily is a small, petite person with skin very taught.

She's from the old Viennese school.

She certainly grew up with discipline and maintained it.

Scales and courts, 15 minutes at least.

And the rest is my pieces, everything.

So I don't forget them.

They are precious to me.

You have to hold on.

Everything goes, but the piano doesn't go away.

That's forever.

And I'm grateful for that.

And she did that until about three weeks before she died at 107.
