I was 62 at the time, and I kept wondering, what is this age thing all about? How do you get up every morning and keep the juices flowing?

And it just occurred to me, I need to speak to

some older people, some older women artists. Amy Gorman's one of those people who began

doing something new later in life. After running a non-profit art center for years and years,

she quit and took up sculpture. And she found herself wondering things like,

And is it crazy to think I could have a career in the arts

if I started this late?

And then she met Lily Hurst, who was 100.

Lily is a small, petite person with skin very taught.

She's from the old Viennese school.

She certainly grew up with discipline and maintained it.

And the rest is my pieces, everything.
