To Lancaster County, the best county in the Keystone State, the best state, and Jim

McTag reporting from Lancaster on a day trip to DC.

Jim, a very good evening to you travel to the big town where you used to work for Barons to do the Washington report.

There have been some changes since you were last there, Jim,

the recovery from the pandemic, and now Doge.

What did you see, and especially what did you see,

at your meeting at the Army and Navy Club?

I love going to D.C.

It's two and a half hour drive from Lancaster.

My GPS took me through Baltimore City on the way down.

I went overnight. I went down Thursday.

Washington is so depressing.

You know, it really hasn't the kind of foot traffic it had pre-COVID. There are more people on the streets than there were back in September the last time I went down.

But it still has an empty urban feeling.

You see empty restaurants and retail establishments all over Connecticut Avenue and K Street.

And I mentioned Connecticut and K because they're kind of famous.

That's where at one point all the biggest law firms were located,

and the most expensive shops were along that street

because you had all the fat cats in the bureaucracy
