Lancaster County, the best county in the Keystone State. I welcome Jim McTagg, former Washington editor of Barron's Magazine, now a novelist living in Lancaster,

and also in Pennsylvania, central Pennsylvania, which I had occasion to traverse these last

days in a visit to Gettysburg Battlefield for the first time, guided by my good friend

Jeff McCausen, CBS News, analyst as well as a professor at Dickinson

College, and Colonel U.S. Army West Pointer, combat veteran. We walked the battlefield. But to get there,

you must cross Central Pennsylvania, where Jim lives in a corner of central

Pennsylvania in Lancaster.

Gorgeous, rolling hills, rich forests, farmland that will grow without you even caring for it.

The north of 84 is the moraines of the glacier, south of 84 rolling hills.

Jim tells me the Susquehanna, which I crossed, I could have walked across it.

Well, Jim, I chose to go do it in an SUV.

In any event, he lives in a part of the world that is blessed by nature.

Jim, you're here to deliver a warning, but I wanted to emphasize that people live very well in Pennsylvania.

There are downturns.

There could be one on the way.

But I saw prosperity, confidence, great, big flatbeds, Chevroletes and Fords, kind that you have to

climb up to, and everybody having a good time.

Is that how it is for you when you drive around Pennsylvania?
