Jim roaming around looking at how people are spending their money in what is farm country,

a lot of Amish farmers, and tourism country.

We start, however, with a discouraging word about the weather.

Jim, I understand it's been raining. Is it raining today? Good evening, too.

Good evening, John. Yes, we've had heavy rain this morning. It's actually good news because we're in agricultural

county. We had a two-month rain deficit at the end of March and suddenly we're down to

less of a month deficit. The first few weeks of May, we got so much heavy, consistent rain

that we got a month's worth of water.

And the scientists are predicting that by the end of May, that the drought deficit for water will be gone.

This is a good thing, again, for the crops, but also one of our rivers, the concentration of forever chemicals

increased because of water levels were so low.

And for the county to put in filters to take that out or to reduce it would have cost

a ridiculous amount of millions.

So this influx of water into the river dilutes of forever chemicals, and, you know, it will not be as deadly as it was before.
