Naibo Kelly, the president of El Salvador, recently greeted happily at the Oval Office by the president and his counselors.

Why? Having to do with the immigration story, so much of the political conversation this last several months of the Trump administration turns on migration, immigration,

what is to be done with those without documents who have committed crimes either here or there?

Several hundred of them have been sent on aircraft to El Salvador are now, we believe, in the El Salvadorian detention.

But I welcome Mary Anastasia Grady.

She writes the America's column for the Wall Street Journal editorial page.

There are a lot of facts here moving in several directions.

It's important to put Naïbe Buceli, president of El Salvador, MS-13, a gang that is associated with violence, murder, all kinds of depredations, and the Justice Department of the United States.

What do they have in common?

Mary, a very good evening to you.

You reveal that the Justice Department from 2022 was moving with a

suspicion, an allegation, that there was some linkage between Naiboukele and the gang itself,

which continued to visit violence on all of the Americas, not just El Salvador.

What is it that the Justice Department had in mind these years until the Trump administration right now?

Well, good evening, John.

The Justice Department in 2022 had indicted 13 MSN alleged MSN gang leaders. And this was done in the Eastern

District of New York. So it's basically the court that's in Brooklyn. And it alleged that these

13 were criminals who had murdered and done other violent acts against people, not just in El Salvador, as you say, but also in the United States.

But part of the indictment was also to describe how they operated.

And in this indictment, the Justice Department says that MS-13 had a truce with the government of El Salvador up until 2015.
