Today when I say special edition, I mean we are reacting live here as we tape Federalist

Radio Hour to the news that Kyle Rittenhouse has been found not guilty on all counts after

days of jury deliberations.

The length of the jury deliberations actually surprised some people.

I expect we'll be joined by other colleagues as the hour wears on, but right now I'm with

my colleague Eddie Scary who has been following the straw closely.

He was on the podcast talking about it earlier this week.

Eddie, your immediate reaction was to actually just sort of look back on a story that you

wrote and I think the story did put it really well that this trial was a case study in the

way the media has false narratives about race.

Tell us what you meant by that.

Right, yeah, so obviously this trial has very national implications, political implications,

but in particular as it relates to race, right?

And that is because this was portrayed by the national media, by that I mean CNN, MSNBC,

the New York Times Washington Post USA Today, all the big ones portrayed as a racial matter

even though everyone involved in this case was white.

And I have spoken to so many people, I bet you haven't, I bet many other people watching

this even had experiences where they either found out themselves or talked to somebody
