All right, welcome to our special Royals opening day edition of KKHI.

We're going to post this one up early as your Thursday podcast because so many of you are going to be watching the game. On Thursday afternoon,

we can't wait for the season to start. This off season has just been filled with all

kinds of discussion about the Royals getting better, going farther in the playoffs,

building a new ballpark, creating a new era of excitement in Kansas City on so many fronts,

and it's very exciting. And now we find out if it's hype or if it's real. It is one thing

to catch lightning in a bottle, and the Royals had one of the greatest turnarounds in baseball history.

From an incredibly bad season to a playoff season, Nobody ever did it quite like the 2024 Royals.

But if they turned it around that quickly in one year,

it stands to reason there was a little lightning in the bottle,

and it could be turned around the other way in a negative way.

I'm not going there.
