Hey server listeners, today's episode is an interview that I just did today with

0:05.1

someone who reached out to me Jim McMeachan, he reached out to me, saying he

0:09.9

wanted to interview me for a class project and I normally don't agree to these

0:15.6

sorts of things because I would be really strapped for time otherwise and I

0:21.2

whenever I get emails of people asking me to do these kinds of things I always feel

0:25.2

compelled to do it. I'm a people pleaser along those lines and I've also

0:30.2

previously operated for the philosophy of never turn an opportunity down along

0:35.2

those you know or never deny someone help. Anyway point is is that if I agreed

0:40.1

to do those things I've found that I would not have time for the podcast which

0:44.7

kind of defeats the whole purpose, right? And along those lines I've been

0:48.4

really wanting to do some deep dives. I'm working on some right now. I was

0:53.1

hoping I'd be able to do more more frequently and I'm trying to get there

0:57.4

with my schedule so watch out for that. But anyway point is is that Jim reached

1:02.3

out to me and normally I would have said no but he sent me his questions and I

1:06.6

thought his questions were actually interesting and I thought I don't think I've

1:10.3

ever even asked myself those questions before and so I thought okay and then

1:15.6

just before we started to talk I thought well maybe I'll record this and see

1:20.0

if it'll be a good podcast episode I don't know. So that's what we're going to

1:24.2

listen to and at the end I'm going because it's it's only I think a half an hour

1:27.4

interview and at the end I'm going to be reading some patron emails so let's get

1:31.5

to the interview. My name is Jim McMeachan. I am a 46-year-old returning college

1:37.6

student working on an English 101 project. You've been very kind to offer me
