It is Wednesday, September the 17th. We are recording just after 12 noon. I say that because last week, big news broke, I don't know,

hour or so after we recorded the podcast. And that was the news of the murder of Charlie Kirk.

When we first heard it, we obviously didn't know he had died, but it was a funny thing because, well, everybody's so on edge.

I mean, we rephrased that.

His murder obviously was not a funny thing.

The circumstances were a funny thing because it's kind of odd to have something released in the face of big news and you didn't discuss it. So I have thought,

like, should we, should we re-record? Should we do like a podcast extra or something like that?

Obviously, we ended up not doing that. But I wanted to mention a couple things about how I found out about this, because I think it captures some of the essence of the thing itself.

I was in the midst of running an errand and someone actually elapsed Republican sent me a link

and said something to the effect of, this is very bad. And I saw that, this is very bad before I saw what the news was.

And there's a lot of things that are very bad these days. But it seemed kind of ominous.

Like there was an intensity in his message.

And I think that captures, I think, the response of almost everybody.
