This is CBS, I Am the World with my colleague Gregg Reckopli of Defense and Foreign Affairs.

As a photograph, you can all find it easily enough of King Charles, when he was Prince 1999,

24 years ago, in a green jacket with his tie on, posing for the photographers in front of

a curious gathering of Adelaide penguins. All looking at the king saying, why are you here?

Well, he was there to emphasize environmentalism, not war fighting.

And one of the reasons I have this picture in front of me is the London Times has now featured

the observation that Charles, as Prince, was seen as just sort of dotty, D-O-T-T-Y.

It's an English word meaning charmingly disconnected from reality.

Now, the London Times makes the case that that dottingness has turned into a fashion for the young people,

the just stop oil young people, the extinction rebellion young people and the people of animal rights.

And Gregory, it just is amazing how a prince can be used, ill-used 25 years ago and suddenly become a visionary today. Good for Charles.

Yes, King Charles is very much concerned about the environment.

As was his father, Prince Philip, they began environmental protection, certainly began supporting,

if you like, positive or very self-sustainable agriculture and the like, Prince Charles began a lot of endeavors

in the Duchy of Cornwall, which was under his control in creating very, very innovative green policies.

If you're like, not talking about green energy and those sorts of things, but he has the credentials,

which a lot of the young idealists support.

So, you know, there's a lot of young people in Britain and around the Commonwealth.

So, you don't see him as being a reactionary figure. They see him as being someone who actually understands them.

He's also very supportive of what today we're calling multiculturalism because he does pay great attention to the cultures and belief systems.
