Ceylansia pursued Balin to avenge the insult to King Arthur's court after killing the Lady of the Lake.

Balin defeated Lancia in a joust, but when his lover arrived, she was overcome with grief

and killed herself with his sword.

Balin, deeply remorseful,

went to the woods where he was reunited with his brother Balin,

and together they captured King Grants.

Merlin warned Balin that with his sword, he was destined to commit a terrible act, the dolorous stroke, which would bring ruin to three kingdoms.
