Summary

Lurie Daniel Favors delivers a powerful analysis of the ICE shooting of Renee Nicole Good, a white mother killed in her minivan after dropping off her child at school. Favors connects this tragedy to the lesser-known case of Keith Porter, a Black man shot by ICE on New Year's Eve, highlighting the pattern of ICE violence. Through a 'Sankofa' approach, she explores America's historical punishment of 'righteous whites' who challenge whiteness culture, tracing this pattern from Bacon's Rebellion through the Fugitive Slave Acts to today.

1:27.3

We've got the white power hungry, right? Those are the white people who, quite frankly, whatever sort of white power and white nationalism and white supremacist ideology, they can muster. They're going to muster. They're going to embrace it. That's who they are. And then you've got the white people who are sort of middle of the road, who are wanting to do good things,
