So last year, 2020, it was a total wash for anyone who likes any kind of racing and outdoor activity that is centered around competition.

All of our races pretty much were scrapped, canceled, we were host.

So if you had a nice race calendar for whatever it is you do, half marathon,

marathon, triathlon, bike racing, you know that you weren't competing last year and it was really

hard to train at all. And my triathlon training really fell apart last year because all of the

pools in New York City were closed. And it was not only difficult to lose so much fitness

on the swim it was also kind of emotionally devastating I didn't realize how much I get out of

swimming and how necessary that is for my fitness and sort of mental well-being and I didn't realize

that until it was gone. And I was

just jonesing to get in the water. We're supposed to take a family trip to Hawaii last year. Obviously,

that didn't happen because I was going to ocean swim every day. I got out to California a few times

and swam a little bit there, but, you know, stuck in a big city with all of the gyms

and all the pools shuddered. It was very, very difficult. So the one big race that I had planned

for last year was a half-iron man. That's a 70.3 distance. That's a distance that I like to do

because it takes some focus. You definitely have to train for it. You can't slack off. And if you're really well trained, you can crush people's dreams on the bike. If you're poorly trained, it catches up to you and you wonder what the hell you're doing to yourself in the middle of, you know,
