Hey friend, it's Kristen, and as we close up this year of studying the Doctrine Convenants, I want to ask you, what was the point?

What did the Lord hope we would learn as we read this book?

Well, let's go back to the beginning of the Doctrine and Covenants to find out.

The Lord said, search these commandments, for they are true and faithful.

What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself.

And though the heavens and the earth pass away, my word shall not pass away, but shall all be

fulfilled. And that was in Doctrine and

Covenants 1, 37 through 38. Now throughout the Doctrine and Covenants, we read commandments that the Lord

requires us to keep. What were some of them? Well, we've been taught to cease to find fault with each

other, to eat healthy food, to love God and our neighbors, to go to bed early

and wake up early, to obey the prophet, and to forgive each other. That list is only a tiny

portion of what is contained in the doctrine and covenants, but it's a good place to start.

We can honor what we learned this year by beginning to live it. Today would be a great day to consider which

of God's commandments, as shared in the doctrine and covenants, we want to start living more fully.
