I started law school in the fall of 93 and there was a study that had just been done

the year preceding that. We were the first year's class after this study was released

and they pulled a number of law school students across the country.

Thousands and there were a series of questions they asked

but the one that stuck out to me was why did you choose law school instead of some other

field of study and then presumed professional career. The number one reason was to kill a

mockingbird. They had watched to kill a mockingbird and they wanted to fight for truth and justice.

The number two reason was because daddy's a lawyer, not mama.

1993 there were very few female lawyers. Funny story Robert Earl Keane's mother was a

an attorney. I don't know if she ever practiced but she did go to law school and she did graduate

and she did pass the bar and I believe that was in the 70s because I think she had stayed

home. He told the story about it's been years ago. Anyway because daddy had gone to law because

daddy was a lawyer so these kids grow up and they graduate high school at 18 and what have they

done a lot of? They play a lot of baseball. They've traveled all over the country playing select

baseball and they know that mom and daddy love them because you got to love a kid

to go to North Carolina and sit for an entire weekend through baseball games and waiting for

baseball games or mom and daddy took him to Florida or Minnesota for tennis tournaments

and sat there watching them play match after match. Got a little hotel,

crammed a quick bite in between match after match, sat there with them through their lessons

or maybe they went to cheer competitions and mama and three of the other mama bears

went to the national cheer conference took up rooms because their girls are young and that's
