And entitled Karen demands to know why I'm banning her kids from the water park, stating that

they did nothing wrong despite the fact that they were literally putting other people in danger.

So after I told her that her kids were banned from my park, she decided to start screaming

in my face, claiming that they did nothing wrong, forcing me to put this Karen in her place

in a way that she will never forget.

Here's what happened. To start things out, I'm a lifeguard at a water park, and I deal with Karen's a lot. But recently, I was actually promoted to head guard, which is basically a manager position, and now I'm dealing with a whole new ballpark. And this situation is something that happened today. I worked a 14 and a half hour shift, so I saw a lot, but nothing pissed me off more than this. I started

the day with the basic head guard stuff, starting the water up, riding down the guard rotation,

etc. We open at 9 o'clock like we usually do, and it was good until about 10 o'clock, specifically

10, 12 in the morning. A family came in consisting of a mom, a dad, a young daughter, and three teenage

boys, all about 17 to 18 years old. Well, immediately, the boys were trouble from my guards.

I got at least 10 complaints about them, but they were all staggered out. They were going

from one half to a different half every time they'd get in trouble, because there's no

communication between halves. Regardless, it reached its tipping point at about 4 o'clock just into the second shift. I also need to add that I'm

infamous among the staff for the way I deal with Karen's entitled kids and rude people, meaning

that I have zero tolerance. Now, I heard a long, loud, double whistle while checking the cameras

in the first aid room, and that means one of three

things, either accident, injury, or attention. I headed over to see a fuming mother screaming at one of my guards, in fact, one of my friends from when I was a normal guard. So I was immediately on edge with this one. I came up and I asked her, can I help you with something? And that's when this entitled Karen starts mouthing off at me. She says to me, yes, this jerk right over here. Only trust me, she didn't say jerk. So I interrupted her and I said, let's watch our language, please. After an exasperated sigh, the Karen continued by saying, this guard banned my son and his friends from this slide for no reason. Well, I looked over and it was them. The thorns in my side. I say out

loud, oh, I see. I then looked to the lifeguard and I say to them, watch your water. I can handle this. I then turned back to the entitled Karen. I say to her, ma'am, I'm going to be honest with you. Your son and his friends aren't banned from the slide. It was then that the entitled Karen tried to jump in and say something, but I raised my hand and continued. I said to them, they're banned from the park,

and when I said that, she absolutely exploded. She questioned why this was happening and why that was happening, calling me a jerk and all this other stuff and basically giving me the works. Eventually, she calmed down and said to me, why? They haven't done anything wrong. But I responded by saying, actually, they've broken nearly every rule we have, and have been causing problems literally all day. This entitled Karen then says, well, what have they really done? What could they have possibly done? But I interrupted her by saying, well, they've endangered themselves, other people, and my lifeguards with their reckless behavior. Now, this Karen started getting frankly enraged. She said to me, and how have they been

endangering people? And at this point, I started to get worked up to. I said to her, they've gone

down every slide the wrong way, jumped out halfway down. They've nearly hit people while playing

dodgeball with the basketballs, which is against the rules anyway, and I have guards posted at the bottom of every slide.
