| 0:25.0 | Remember, justice is the virtue where we give to others what we owe them. |
| 0:30.1 | And to live justly, we must understand two principles, |
| 0:34.5 | subsidiarity and solidarity. |

| 1:08.6 | Now subsidiarity is the principle by which we take personal responsibility and make a specific |
| 1:17.0 | contribution to the common good. This is important because God created each person in his image with intelligence and a free will. |
| 1:27.0 | And we're supposed to use our freedom, take initiative and responsibility, be creative, be innovative, |
| 1:35.0 | and have a mutual concern for others |
| 1:38.0 | that leads us to care for them and for the common good. |
| 1:41.0 | Now as a society or a business or a parish or even a family, we should foster conditions |
| 1:48.6 | in which individuals can express their distinct character and make their distinct contribution. |
| 1:55.0 | Subsidi safeguards the role of the individual |
| 2:00.0 | and it helps them to grow in personal responsibility. |
