immediately when I leave my office, there's my wonderful family bombarding me with their

needs. It's the way of life during this pandemic. But it got me thinking, even before the pandemic,

we lived in a world where everything is go go go now now now more more more. What came

to mind is the stress cycle. Many of us are living in a state of hyper arousal. During

the state of hyper arousal, there are stress hormones that are being released inside

of our bodies and we don't even realize it. Harmones I'm sure we've all heard before,

like epinephrine and cortisol. And during these continuous bouts of hyper arousal, we often

feel like we're doing the right thing and that's natural because we are getting more

done, accomplishing more. So everything must be okay. But it's not. We're in this continuous

state of hyper arousal and what's scary is that oftentimes we don't even know it and when we

do realize it, it may be too late. The high blood pressure is already here. The migraines have

arrived or diabetes has suddenly become a problem. What's wild is that this hyper arousal state

also known as fight flight or freeze is actually designed to help us. It's an intrinsically
