I do think that what happened at the court is tremendously bad.

I wonder how long we're going to have these institutions at the rate we're undermining.

How much do you care?

How long are you willing to be in this?

Because we know for conservatives the answer was half a century.

So the question I think is whether people who are progressive are willing to match that.

This is the new era that we're in.

From now on, according to Supreme Court, gun laws get evaluated solely based on whether

they are consistent with historical tradition.

and some truly ground shifting decisions from the highest court in the land.

Even for those of us who've been pretty certain, we knew what was coming on both the gun

and abortion fronts.

Thursday and Friday can only be described, at least in my view, as crushing days.

Huge majorities of the country, wanted, row preserved, huge majorities of the country,

favor significant gun safety regulations.

Yet the six justices that comprise the ultra conservative supermajority at the high

court wants us to know not only that it's just not their job to follow public opinion

and on that point, by the way, they are descriptively correct.
