2021. Let's get into the mix.

Here are your Washington headlines for the day. The White House comes to Capitol Hill to try

to get an infrastructure deal. We have a lot of news on that front. Kirsten Cinema says again

in the Washington Post, she's not going to blow up the filibuster. And police reform, not dead yet.

So let's get into the mix the white house is

dispatching three of its top aides to Capitol Hill today for a flurry of meetings with senators

with the aim of trying to get a better handle on whether a bipartisan infrastructure deal is possible

this is a big moment for the White House for this entire process louisa turell, the White House ledge affairs director, Steve Roshetti, counselor to the president.

And Brian Dees, the director of the National Economic Council, will be on the hill meeting with various permutations of the bipartisan group of 21 senators trying to craft an infrastructure deal.

So the White House told us last night that they want to see

real progress this week. And if they do, this is news here, that they're going to invite members of

this group to meet with Biden later this week at the White House, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday,

one of those days. So, you know, this is kind of a breaking point. Again, we feel like we say this

every day or every week, but this really is a breaking point.

We're about to get into the July 4th recess, and Congress is still, the Senate still doesn't have a deal on this front on infrastructure.

And Biden wants progress and rightfully so. He a Democratic Party frankly that can pass something using

the reconciliation process, the 50 vote reconciliation process. So they're trying to push this
