to the Daily Punch, brought to you by Punch Bowl News. It's Monday, June 21st, 2021. Let's get into the mix. Here are your

Washington headlines for the day. What the White House will do this week to get an infrastructure

deal. The big voting bill in the Senate this week, and Schumer makes his move on Medicare

expansion. This is a massive week for Joe Biden's quest to cut a bipartisan infrastructure

deal. We expect the president to lean in fairly aggressively to try to move this process along.

Remember, time is short.

We keep saying this, but there is a government funding runs dry at the end of the fall.

The debt ceiling needs lifting.

Congress takes off a lot of time for July 4th and August. They're

gone basically all of August. So in short, these guys, these people have to get it done. They have

to start moving. So here's what we found out during a day of reporting on Father's Day. We were

bugging people all day. Apologies for bugging people on Father's Day. So the White House does believe that a deal with

this bipartisan group of 20 is doable and in their view is even likely. We really can't tell how

much of this is being as optimism or over optimism perhaps is the best way to say it. But,

you know, they really do think it's,

it's possible to get done. The White House's main focus this week is trying to find, um,

a way to get the Senate group, to get the Senate group of, of, of 20, um, to ditch their,

um, uh, the electric vehicle tax and the gas tax.
