This is from William. While I understand your sentiments when you both use phrases

such as my people or as a black man, we're making an argument regarding race

relations, I can't help but think those signifying

prefaces immediately trap you in a logical inconsistency category error.

We're on the one hand, you seem to argue against racialization since, as you

consistently put it, we all should primarily behave and

fund the mentally view ourselves as American citizens. And yet, you seem unable

or unwilling to use that very rationale when beginning the conversation.

Quote, as a black man, I believe we are all American citizens first.

Close quote. That doesn't seem to make sense. Am I wrong?

At least if using those types of preemptive phrases are necessary, you might

want to constantly remind listeners that those are secondary traits that are

not as important as our shared citizenship. As William, he detects a

inconsistency in our personal identifications while affirming a

universalistic ethic. What do you think? The first thing I think is that
