All right. Let's get to it. Our number three.

1:17.8

Welcome to two beautiful to live on K-I-R-O Seattle K-I-R-O-F-M to come to Seattle. It's kind of amazing.

1:29.8

I've often said that the band survivor is the best that ever was. In my opinion, they put rock music to bed. Everyone else is an imitator.

1:38.8

That's right. You heard me. Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bach, Beethoven. You guys suck. Well, unfortunately, survivor won't return my calls. I get it. They're survivor. And I'm not.

1:55.8

It's just after nine bells, Burbank Standard Time. And that means you've made it to the third and final hour of this Tuesday night edition of TBTL.

2:04.8

The show that's probably too beautiful to live. I'm happy to report that we're sort of slowly but surely getting it back together after that rousing round of celebrity hot potato name game that involved the TBTL,

2:19.8

which may or may not have given all of us ale poisoning. Anyway, now we're starting to get it back together. And not a moment too soon because we have important things to talk about and very important things to give away.

2:30.8

And the topic at hand this hour is the Capitol Hill Block Party. And joining us here is one of the organizers of it. Also a band manager, Mr. Dave Minert. Hi, Dave.

2:40.8

Hey, man. Welcome to the program. Thanks. Nice to be on. It's nice to have you around. Yeah, you and I talked many years ago about this thing called the teen dance ordinance because you were involved in trying to get the rules changed in this city so that it was actually okay for people under the age of 21 to go see live music.

3:00.8

Right. There was many moons ago. We were both little then. I know. I know it's weird. It's weird being old. It's like in your mind. You're still a little bit. Right. The body. Only in my mind. Yeah, your body. Then it's very, very old. So what, uh, which edition of the Capitol Hill Block Party? Are we on? Is this the 10th? The 25th somewhere in between those. I think I think it's the 12th. The 12th. I think. All right. Well, we'll give you a little. We'll see.

3:30.8

Maybe the 13th. Well, it's a high number, though, for something that in my mind seems like it didn't start that long ago. How did the Capitol Hill Block Party even get started? I don't think I remember the first four. But they were that fun. They were that fun. Just a kind of a weird memory. Yeah, it was weird. You know, it was really this Marcus Charles who who owned the bad juju lounge at the time still owns the juju down on second. He did the beer garden at the third year. When someone else was

4:00.8

producing it and it was okay, but you couldn't see the stage from the beer garden and and to both of us we thought the whole point of this is to watch bands and get drunk in the street. And I was inspired by that idea. And so he said, well, why don't you book the bands next year and and I'll do the beer garden and we'll make it look, you know, work a little better. And it seems to have worked out. Okay. So the thing that I think is so cool about this about this get together. And by the way,

4:30.8

if you're outside the Seattle area Capitol Hill is kind of to Seattle as, you know, I don't want to say Williamsburg is to New York. Maybe it's Williamsburg because, you know, it's it's like it's not green point, but it's not Park Slope. So maybe that makes it Williamsburg. It's kind of like Capitol Hill is is a kind of like a fun happening neighborhood where a lot of the people who are kind of younger and really into the sort of music scene tend to be hanging out these days. And the thing that's so great about the block party is that it's like, it's

5:00.8

sort of four people who live in Seattle. Right. For sure. Yeah. We it is an urban city festival. Um, and and meant for that. Like you shouldn't drive to it. If you have to drive to it, forget it. Don't come. Really? Yeah, just walk.

5:16.5

And if you live, if you live too far away, then just find somebody who lives on Capitol Hill crash with them. Right. Right. Go with them. It's meant to be. It's meant for people in Seattle. For sure.

5:26.5

You guys have been made able to really like land some pretty decent acts in this, you know, whatever it is between 10 and 13 years, because I remember last year, I went to this thing in Canada,
