0:13.0	Today we are on a journey through Scripture.
0:16.0	We hope you'll join us as we make 66 stops through each book of the Word of God.

0:39.3	I praise the Lord today for the family that God chose for me, the family he put me in.
0:44.8	I love them more with every passing day.
0:47.6	But I'm learning something.
0:48.7	I'm learning that my decisions affect them.
0:52.0	You see, no man lives to himself, no man dies to himself, and the decisions
0:57.0	you make affect more than just you. That's the great message that we discover as we journey
1:03.0	into First Kings. Now, we've been in the first double book of the Old Testament, known as First
1:09.3	and Second Samuel. Now we move into the next one,
1:12.5	first and second Kings. First and Second Samuel gives us the beginning of the monarchy in Israel.
1:19.2	We have the record of the first two kings. We've studied their life, King Saul and King David.
1:25.0	When you come to First Kings, you move into the reign of the third king of Israel,
1:30.4	David's son, a famous king, known as Solomon. You know him as the wisest man who ever lived,
1:36.5	and yet perhaps one of the most foolish men who ever lived. You see, wisdom very easily turns to folly.
1:43.5	Wisdom may be held, but if it's not obeyed, oh, it brings such devastating results.
1:50.4	And that is the record that you find in the book of First Kings.
1:53.9	Now, one of the key verses of the book is First Kings chapter 2, verse 12.
1:58.0	It's very brief.
1:59.2	It just simply says, then sat Solomon upon the throne of David
