As many of you know, Joni Lamb, co-founder of the Christian Broadcasting Powerhouse, Daystar TV,

passed away on Thursday. She was 65 years old. And though she clearly had been sick, very few

expected her to die this soon. It stunned me, and I know it's stunned much of the Daystar

audience. And there are just so many thoughts right now, but first and foremost, I want to offer

my condolences to the family. Tomorrow is Mother's Day. And I can just imagine how heart-wrenching

tomorrow is going to be for Joni's family. I lost my mother 23 years ago and there's not a week that goes by

that I don't think about her. Sometimes I think it's every day. And so my heart goes out to

Joni's children, to Rachel, Rebecca, and to Jonathan. I am so, so sorry for your loss.

And yes, now is a time to mourn. And of course, much of the discussion right now is

revolving around the fact that Jonathan, who was estranged from this mother, wasn't given the

opportunity to say goodbye. I reached out to Jonathan's wife, Susie, Thursday afternoon, and she said

Jonathan was in shock. She said nobody called him until the social media post on Thursday

afternoon. And we know that it wasn't a family member who called him. It was Tom Callender, a longtime

board member at Daystar TV. If you followed this story, you know that Tom Callender was the one

who tried to strong-arm Jonathan into signing an NDA three years ago.

Jonathan wasn't falling into line with affirming his mother's marriage to Doug Weiss.

Jonathan, as you know, is a man of conviction and he wasn't going to bless a man divorcing his wife of 30-some years to marry his mother.

But the board wanted to make sure that Jonathan was muzzled

and thank God he wasn't. Jonathan stood up to them and that's why Joni eventually fired Jonathan.

But it's just so incredibly sad that Tom Callender, the man who did this evil thing three years ago,

was the person who broke the news to Jonathan.

My heart breaks for Jonathan and Susie.
