The New York Times reporting today that after halting a U.S. resettlement program for Afghans

who helped the American war effort, President Trump is in talks to send 1,100 of them to the Democratic Republic

of Congo. Congo. You know, there is a war raging in Congo right now, too. If a refugee goes to Congo,

he is not getting refuge.

He should refuse refuge in Congo.

The Democratic Republic of Congo in early 25,

experienced fighting between Congolese security forces and militant groups,

led by the M23,

the only transnational army named after a highway in the UK.

The M23 captured Goma, the regional hub of the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.

Thousands fled. Many had already been internally displaced.

The UN estimates 900 killed. The Congolese 2,000 killed.

That is according to conflict tracker international from the Council on Foreign Relations.

But of course, this latest skirmish was only part of a huge, huge, ongoing, never-ending war.

Sometimes we say about a chaotic area.

There's like a war zone.

It's like Afghanistan.

And indeed, in the Afghanistan war, something like 200,000 a little over 200,000 people died.

But in Congo, 250,000 people died.
