The reason I wanted you to have you on the playbook is the most common question asked of me is how do you get a job in

sports and if we had reversed engineered our careers you know the kid asking would look at us

And so I thought if you could just walk me through

how you ended up being the co- of the San Jose Sharks which is a

position so many people won in the front office of the professional team

especially if they're a hockey fan but how did that end up he how did your career end up here?

Yeah, so I'll spare the long story

and try to speed this up a little bit.

So I became a season ticket holder for the sharks in 1999.

So actually almost 20 years ago.

So I've been around, big fan, been around this building a lot for the big moments and the not so big moments.

Probably more than a decade ago, 15 years ago, a startup that I was running got acquired by SAP. And as you may or may not know,

the majority owner for the sharks is also one of the founders of SAP.

And as part of that process after I got acquired, I ended up as chief marketing officer of SAP.

And one of the challenge is most companies, most people in the world may or may not have heard of
