Welcome to our daily rosary meditation. Let's begin in the name of the Father and the

son and the Holy Spirit. Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

Today we are in Vavo Cathedral in Krakow, meditating on the life of John Paul II, especially

his Marion devotion. Now it was was Jan Tironowski who gave young Carol Voitiba a copy of true devotion to Mary by St. Louis de Monfort.

And he took this little book with him

to the chemical factory where he worked

and he read it during his breaks and he kept it the rest of his life still

stained by the chemicals from the plant. Now at first he was afraid that devotion to Mary would distance him from Jesus, and that he should

give less attention to Mary and more attention to Christ. But through reading true devotion he came to the

conclusion that Mary would help him receive Jesus. And on this point, young Carol Voitiba says, the reading of the

treaties of true devotion to the Blessed Virgin was the very turning point in his life and it led

him to entrust himself entirely to Jesus through the hands of Mary.

Now he was in their hands.

He was the property and possession of our lady.

Therefore nothing could come except what God wills

and even if it appeared very bad, God would make it the best.

And confident of the providential care of Jesus and Mary, he could go forward with courage into his

vocation to study clandestinely in the underground seminary, which he entered in October of

1942 and even to continue as the Soviet troops captured Warsaw in January of 1945.

But trusting in the maternal care of Our Lady. He's ordained a priest on November 1st, All Saints Day

1946. Our Father who art in heaven, hallow would be your name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on

earth as it is in heaven.
