University and writes for the New York Times.

And our special guest this week is Richard Collenberg, who is Director of Housing Policy and Director of the American Identity Project

at the Progressive Policy Institute and who's also a professorial lecture at the School of Public

Policy and Public Administration at George Washington University.

And Rick is author of a number of books, but most recently published this year is his class matters.

The fight to get beyond race preferences, reduce inequality, and build real diversity at America's colleges.

That's the book. This is the moment the Supreme Court spoke in 2023.

Rick was actually an expert witness in that litigation. On behalf of the plaintiffs, the Asian students, students for fair admissions who were suing

Harvard University and the University of North Carolina for discriminating against them

in their racially preferential admissions practices.

I understand, Rick, that the New York Times has called you a liberal maverick.

And I wonder if you would, you know, reflect on that for a moment.
