I'm Cori Allen, and as always always it is a great pleasure to speak with you today.

I hope that my voice is coming through nice and warm, nice and smooth, nice and rich, moving

through your earholes into your brain brain resonating around, getting prepared

for a great conversation that I want to share with you today with my friend John F. Simon

Jr. If you're a new listening to the podcast, you're in for a real treat.

John is a great old friend of mine. He is a multimedia artist, a software art pioneer whose work

and installations are found in the permanent

collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Guggenheim Museum, the

Museum of Modern Art in New York and many many others. He's also collaborated with the Icelandic singer

Bjork where he wrote an app for her album by Ophelia and wrote a book called

Drawing Your Own Path 33 Practices and the crossroads of art and meditation.

If that background is not interesting enough to get you excited, then I don't know what

will get you excited.

I met John about 10 years ago at an artist residency whenever I was in my

mid 20s and he was in his mid 40s and we just clicked immediately. He was definitely

an artistic mentor to me and we've just stayed in touch and stayed good friends ever since.

So I love talking to John, you know, every time we talk, whether it be on or off a podcast,

we always just get into this wonderful, beautiful creative flow. a creativity, about the creative process, and of course about mindfulness and splashing around
