I am delighted and honored to present a conversation with J.D. Whistler.

J.D. has been having a decades-long love affair with clouds. He is fascinated with the

nuances, the fleeting moments, and the way that the light bounces off of him. It's an

obsession, really, but one that I can totally understand. Now, I'm going to tell you about one

of my quirks, and I promise that it comes back to J.D.'s

I get really anxious watching television and sometimes movies.

I can't help but think that this moment, right now, has never happened before and will never

happen again.

I don't want to waste it.

Each moment is unique, and I become very conscious of time and how precious it is.

So J.D.'s paintings feel like another version of that.

He will never see another sky like the one that he's probably looking at right now.

The light, the place, his mood, what he's thinking about,

has never combined in exactly the same way before, and it will never happen again. His paintings
