But just to get us caught up to where we are after last time,

essentially last time we had just concluded the time before last, sort of the lengthy farewell discourse that Jesus gave to his disciples.

And so last time we picked up with Judas bringing the temple guards at the behest of the high priest out to arrest Jesus in the Garden of Gassimony. We read about his

arrest and his sort of sham trial in front of the chief priest and during which St. Peter denied him

three times as we read about. And then we read about his final trial

after he was turned over to pilot. And right at the conclusion, last time we saw sort of one of the

the gospel according to St. John, which was this idea that these Judean authorities, as represented

especially by the chief priests, though they claimed to worship God the Father, and though they claimed to be the

children of Abraham, remember Jesus several times that, you know, if you were the children of
