Take a deep breath and quiet your heart as we become aware of God's loving presence around us and within us.

Today's passage comes from Joel, chapter 2 2 verse 13.

Tear your hearts, not just your clothes, and return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious

and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding and faithful love, and he relents from sending

disaster.

Recite God's goodness. Gracious God, merciful and compassionate,

you long for us to return to you,

and you always receive those who come in brokenness and

desperate need.
