Amos.

Take a deep breath and quiet your heart as we become aware of God's loving presence around us and within us.

Today's passage comes from Amos chapter 5 verse 24.

But let justice flow like water and righteousness like an unfailing stream.

Recite God's goodness. Oh, just and gracious God, you hear the cries of the oppressed and you bend low to lift them up.

You stand against the proud who trust in themselves and you rescue the vulnerable and marginalized.

Oh God, I praise you because you see, you hear, and you will act.

Take a few moments now to recite God's goodness, praising him for who he is and for what

he has done in your own life.

Express your neediness. god i've focused on my own wish list at the expense of those suffering around me

i confess that i've selfishly let others fend for themselves when I could extend my hand and alleviate their pain.

Forgive me, God. Help me to see what you are calling me to do and make me quick to obey your call with courage and grace.

Pause now and express your neediness to God, confess in your sins and your neediness and your need for His forgiveness and grace in your life.

Seek his stillness.

Jesus said that out of the hearts of those who believe in him will come streams of living water.

So picture that stream flowing into your home and into your neighborhood,

joining other streams to form a river of justice that floods your community with God's righteousness. What changes would such a river

bring? Be still and let God work in your heart what He wants to change in and through you. Trust His faithfulness.

O living water, you will return as king, bringing justice that shines like the noonday sun.

But until that day, show me how you want me to become your agent of restoration in this broken world.

And let your righteousness begin with me.

Take time now to declare your trust in God's faithfulness.
