I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me, which I trust and pray will be five minutes well spent.

I'm honored, as always, by the guests on our show today.

Kyle Eidleman is someone I followed from afar,

loved his books like The End of Me, and love this one especially, not a fan.

He's a teaching pastor at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky.

He and his wife have four children and live on a farm.

Fun stuff there.

I'll tell you more about Kyle tomorrow in our interview, but today he gives

some great encouragement and thoughts from his new book, Don't Give Up. A really timely and powerful

word for us all. So listen in.

I think that the most difficult part of not giving up for most of us is we don't understand how things are going to work out or how things are going to come together.

If we could see it, then we could endure and we could persevere.

When I was a kid, I would go to my grandmother's house in Quincy, Illinois, and she had these puzzles

that she kept in Ziploc bags. I'm not really sure why she kept them in Ziploc bags, but I think

she would work the puzzle, leave it out for a while, throw away the box, but keep the pieces

in a Ziploc bag. Anyway, we would dump out the puzzle pieces onto the table.

And we'd try to work this puzzle, but it was incredibly difficult.

When you have all the pieces, but you don't have a picture on the box to go off of,

it's hard to endure.

It's hard to keep going.

We would always give up.
