I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me, which I trust and pray

will be five minutes well spent.

What do you think of when I say these two words, holy confidence?

You may have heard me say them before on here, but they bear repeating

because I believe they're the difference maker in how we walk through this world. We want to be

strong and sure-footed and we want to be able to stand in a standard and conviction that often is at

odds with the world. But how in the world do we do this when we aren't always confident as a person

in and of ourselves?

We know our own faults and shortcomings better than anyone. We know sometimes in a conversation

with someone we feel weighing over our head. So what do we do as people who want to be more

assured in our faith for ourselves and in sharing it with others. Up today, it our Rise series,

rising in holy confidence, something we all can do. I took a poll on my social media about

six months ago and 91% of the about a thousand people who responded say they do not feel

they can walk through this world strong. It burdened me greatly, but I don't think the statistic is off.

I think, in fact, it might even be low, especially if you ask it on a day that the news is particularly

bad, which I made sure I didn't so as not to skew the statistic. So many of us don't feel strong on

any given day, so we don't then think we are. I've unpacked Ephesians 1 on this show when it was

the five-word prayers daily, and I'll tell you, if you haven't read that chapter in the Bible in a while,

you need to because it is packed full of straight up truth that should by all means make

you feel powerful today, not because of who you are, but because of who you belong to and
