Happy April. I'm always grateful for a new month, aren't you? I love a fresh start of sorts, and April

feels like we are inching closer to summer and those warmer temps, and being outside makes me

happy this time of year. As we think in that direction, I felt like it was a great time to get

our priorities in line, a first thing's first sort of mentality heading into not only another

season, but another month. And yes, another day. It's a great day to start priorities, right

priorities. It's really what this podcast is all about. All month, we're going to talk about

really important first things first. And up today, we start from the top, a first things first of faith, essentially.

Stick with me, and we'll get into what I mean.

So first things first, literally, I'll tell you that David and my daily Bible reading in

First and Second Samuel was the inspiration behind this series. We'll talk more specifically

about him and what I mean by that next week, but just know that God and the Word really does

drive the content for this show. So one of the things I've noticed when I go certain places

and do certain events is

something that actually grieves me. And that is a lack of follow-up sometimes for people who

might have come to know Jesus during an event. Now, I know you might be wondering what in the

world this has to do with today's show, but it actually has a lot to do with it because I believe

there's often a lack of

commitment on the part of us as believers for a first-thing-first discipleship pouring-in plan

when it comes to new believers. And as a result, we have so many Christians who don't
