On June 4, 2008, two young lovers named Travis and Jody were capping off an afternoon of lovemaking by taking pictures in the shower. As Jody sat in front of the shower looking at the photos, she heard a really loud pop just as she was knocked in the head and rendered on the screen.

She was unconscious, briefly. When she came to, Travis was huddling in the shower. He was terrified. She wanted to get help, but there were two masses of salons there, a man and a woman blocking her way. They looked like ninjas.

As Jody tried to escape, one of the armed intruders stopped her, held a gun to her head and told her not to move. The gun went off. But miraculously, because of a gun malfunction, she was spared.

Somehow, she escaped the mail and rushed the female assailant who was holding a gun to Travis's head. Jody was once again knocked out and awoke to her lover screaming. He'd been shot in the face. She tried to get him out of the shower, but the assailants came back into the room and argued about whether or not to kill her.

The female wanted to, but the man said they were not there for her. The female attacker ignored him and went after Jody with a gun. Or maybe it was a knife. Anyway, what mattered in that moment was that they got her name and address from her driver's license. And they said if she ever told anyone, they would kill her and her family. So Jody grabbed her purse and ran out the door.

Confused? Yes, well, so were the police. Why? Because this was the second version of the story that Jody told police about the events that occurred on the night that Travis was murdered. Sound unbelievable? That's because it was.

2:36.0

Jody could not keep her story straight. She would even change the details in numerous press interviews she gave after she was arrested. The only part of the story that did not change was this. Travis Alexander was brutally murdered in his home. Did two mass ninjas do this? No, it was one person. And her name is Jody Aureus.
