While job cuts are looming, the U.S. job market was pretty solid in President Donald Trump's first full month in office.

Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed 151,000 positions were added,

which was slightly less than predicted, but way above January.

We asked CNN's Alicia Wallace what the figures say about Trump's start.

Well, Aaron, the February jobs report shows a pretty solid and stable labor market, but one that's

also softer.

The jobless rate ticked up, labor first participation dropped, and folks are seeing their hours

reduced or just having a harder time finding full-time work.

Now, these aren't falling off a cliff type of signals. However, the political and economic backdrop

sure do add concern. The administration's massive moves from federal layoffs to spending cuts,

to tariffs, to deportations, you name it. They're shaking confidence, tripping economic data

warning signals,

and causing businesses to pull back on hiring or worse, cutting jobs. As one economist put it

Friday, the job's report is either, quote, the calm before the calm or the calm before the storm.

President Donald Trump is being accused of having, quote, blatant double standards.

That's coming from a senior Hamas figure after Trump demanded the release of hostages still held in Gaza.
