So he wasn't exactly spitting straight fire yesterday from the podium. However, Mike Tomlin

did get some heads turning all around the NFL yesterday when he announced that

Russell Wilson will get the Steelers first team reps this week and is in line to make his debut as a starter on Sunday night.

Now I got to admit that did surprise me. It probably should not have but it did

surprise me and clearly I was not the only one. Way more important people than

me were surprised by that which I will get to momentarily.

Listen I'm not saying that my dude Justin Fields came out with a blowtorch and a

gas can and set the entire world on fire. I'm not saying that. However, what I am saying is the

dude is four and two and he's not just winning and they're not winning in spite of him.

I'm not saying they're in spite of him.

I'm not saying they're winning because of him,

but the numbers are solid.

The numbers actually are very solid.

For instance, here's what the numbers say. Fields has a better QBR so far than Jared Gough.

A better QBR so far than Wack Prescott.

That's WAG.

Fields has a better passer rating so far. Prescott. is completing passes at a higher rate than Brock Purdy.

Fields has more rushing yardage and rushing Tedes

than Travis Tien, and Zach Moss.

And he's only thrown one pick so far,

so he's taking care of the ball.
